The Why

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses…And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony…” (Hebrews 12:1; Revelation 12:11, New King James Version). Have you ever gone through a dark valley or wildness in your life and wondered if you were alone? If there was anyone else who understood what you were going through? Life is challenging. Storms come. We face losses. We get disoriented. Sometimes hearing how a fellow soldier overcame their own dark moments is just the push we need to get up again and keep on keeping on.  Your voice can be part of that cloud of witnesses to encourage other fellow Christians.

The Project: Joy in the Journey

I am looking for individuals who are willing to share poetry on finding joy, peace, strength, and motivation in the daily Christian life--the more voices the better. Topics may include prayer, perseverance, faith, trust, mindset, victory, positivity, self-control—just to name a few. You may submit as many poems as you wish. Feel free to use your own personal style. There is no minimum or maximum word count at this point.  Once collected, these poems will be compiled and published in a book. The proceeds beyond the production cost of the book go to purchase Bibles and/or Bible materials for children in Latin America, Asia, and other countries where I have connections with missionaries who work with children.

Requirements and Details:

·       Any poetry submitted should be your own original work.

·       Any poem that is submitted untitled may receive a title at the editors’ discretion.

·       I reserve the right to decide which poems are included in the published volume based on the number of poems received and their alignment with the stated themes and criteria.

·       Any modification of your poetry will be communicated to you for approval.

·       You will be credited as the writer of all poetry you submit unless you request otherwise.

·       Individuals who submit 10 poems or more will be offered a copy of the published book free of charge.

·       Individuals who submit 5 poems or more will be offered a copy of the published book at a 50% discount on the published selling price.
